Are School Based Health Centers Accessible

Are School Based Health Centers Accessible?

Here’s why I need your help.

Regulations limit the use of School Based Health Centers (SBHC) to students currently enrolled in that school. Which means a student who has dropped out, attends a charter school a private or parochial school or is home schooled can’t use the services of their neighborhood health center.

Do you think that makes sense?

If you live near a school with a health center, please take a photo of the entrance and email it to bmiller@dccampaign.org

(Anacostia, Ballou, Cardozo, Coolidge, Dunbar, Roosevelt, Woodson have School Based Health Centers.)

If you work at a school with a health center, please let me know if there’s an entrance to the School Based Health Center (SBHC) that doesn’t require people to walk through the school.

Thanks for your help,

Brenda
